Mr. Shaafy from Bank of Maldives: This is the kind of people we need for our country to develop.

This is Mr. Shaafy from Bank Of Maldives.

We say that world is developing, so does people. Arrogance is developing in our nerves. But even today, there are people with good heart. Here is an example one I say on Facebook. To be honest, this really touched me. This is the kind of people we need for our country to develop.

"Good customer care is probably the key to every huge institution’s success. With time, banking has become mobile and easy. BML revolutionized banking in Maldives. But I’d like to highlight the exemplary customer service provided by BML.

Just last week, I was sitting in a queue at BML main branch. Normally, I am the kind of person who hates long queues and the wait, I mean, who doesn’t? But I praise BML for the flexible queue arrangement. I mean, let’s be honest, how many places in Male’ provides proper seating (and by proper, I mean a seat where your legs or shoulders doesn’t accidentally brush someone else’s), cool air in this hot weather, or anything comfortable at all? So, anyway, I was there chilling, waiting for my turn when I heard this angry customer yelling about something not far from where I was sitting.

Within seconds a bank staff rushed to attend to him. Of course, the angry person kept yelling, demanding to see the supervisor. But what I saw next really touched my heart. This bank staff greeted him politely with a big smile, telling him that he was the manager and he is there to help him. He was not even one bit rude to the man literally yelling at his face. That aggressive customer actually smiled when he greeted him back. Instead of sitting behind a huge desk, the manager was out there standing by the customer’s seat in the waiting area. Now that’s good customer care.

This is Mr. Shaafy the manager I saw that day. He doesn’t know why I took this picture, or that I am writing this huge ass status about him. But if we have the time and energy to write about our frustrations and complain about bad customer care and such, I believe we should also have the time to appreciate and acknowledge hard working people like him. Thank you BML, for making our lives easier."
