A five-year-old autistic boy from the Maldives has completely memorized the Holy Quran. According to his parents he has also memorized the meanings of some verses as well.
Five-year-old Mohammed Ashham’s mother said that Asham learned to recite the Quran by listening to Quran from TV.
According to Ashham’s mother he paid attention to the call for prayer starting from a young age and started reciting Quran before speaking. He still cannot speak properly but can fluently recite the Quran.
Ashham’s mother said that sometimes he refuses to recite Quran, but when he does that she starts reciting Quran and he also follows her. Ashham was admitted to Dhondhooni Preschool and his teachers noticed that he was able to learn very quickly, and his teachers assured his parents that he can memorize the Quran.
Aishath Nazwa, a teacher of Ashham’s school said that they noticed that he memorized very quickly and then they contacted his parents and started special lessons to make him memorize the Quran. Ashham’s father said that Ashham is a blessing for the family and also he is the youngest memorizer of Quran in the Maldives.
